Optimizing Governance – an Art of Living Model
The Art of Living joins hands with the Government of India to create 426 Model Gram Panchayats in 19 States across India.
The Art of Living’s Vyakti Vikas Kendra India (VVKI) will be partnering with the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR) in their major initiative to create clusters of successfully developed gram panchayats across the country.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed to this effect between NIRDPR and VVKI at the launch of the project in Gwalior on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, 2018. VVKI will be assisting NIRDPR in the implementation of the Action Research Project of Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP).
426-gram panchayats in 100 clusters from 115 aspirational-cum-mission Antyodaya districts in 19 States have been identified under the project (100 plus Panchayat Cluster Development Programme for Sustainable Development).

VVKI will be extending its expertise in the participation, preparation and delivery of transformative leadership and capacity building modules, introduction of educational initiatives for qualitative learning, undertaking research and training initiatives, encouraging, promoting and scaling up innovations and social entrepreneurship, apart from promoting collaborative initiatives for sustainable development and volunteerism through leveraging information communication technologies.
