"Khushian da Khed Mela" Sports Meet in Firozpur

     To motivate youth to stay away from drugs and opt for a healthy lifestyle, a sports meet, one of the first of its kind, was organized on September 30, 2018, in village Ghal Khurd near Talwandi in District Firozpur, Punjab, under the leadership of Art of Living faculty, Manpreet and Kiran Lamba. YLTP State Council members Dinesh Kanchan and Yogesh Khurana were the chief guests. In all 26 teams, comprising of 250 players, participated in various games.

     Talking to Seva Times, Manpreet said that games have remained an integral part of life of youngsters in Punjab and this sports fair was organized to keep that spirit alive and provide a platform to players and inspire others. 8 teams of Kabbadi, 2 teams of Kho- Kho, and 16 teams of volleyball participated In this day-long meet under two categories.

     Winner teams from each category received cash prizes sponsored by local Art of Living faculty. All the 250 players received medals and mementos (sponsored by Sham Sunder Arora from Zeera.)

The teacher couple, Manpreet Lamba and Kiran Lamba, were duly supported by the Art of Living team from Firozpur, Faridkot, and Zeera in organizing the event

     Local artists enthralled those present with energetic dance performances after the completion of each game. During this whole event, a community kitchen was also organized which was sponsored by Vikas Mittal and Malkeet Singh from Zeera.

     A few little yogis also gave performance of yoga in the evening. Players were motivated to make yoga an integral part of their routine life. The event was a great success and the players went back with an amazing experience. Manpreet Lamba said that after the event calls were pouring in from schools requesting them to train their students in yoga and meditation.
